Grey’s

For this project, I had been commissioned to come up with a name and full brand identity for a new café set in the heart of the British countryside. The café could either be a one-of-a-kind spot, inspired by a specific location and its unique charm, or part of a wider chain that could pop up in any countryside. The goal is to create a brand that feels rooted in its surroundings while being warm, welcoming, and totally memorable.

The brand needed to connect with anyone who might stumble in for a coffee locals, hikers, holidaymakers, road trippers, or anyone just craving a good cuppa in a scenic spot. There’s loads of inspiration to draw from too: think mountains, maps, wayfinding, wildlife, valleys, rivers, standing stones, nostalgic school trips and more. The visual identity should reflect the spirit of the place whether that’s rugged coastline or rolling hills and invite people in with a sense of comfort, adventure, and belonging.
